At Jean Donati Acupuncture, every visit is designed around your unique health concerns, goals, and response to treatment.

As a licensed acupuncturist with a background as a Physician Assistant and more than 34 years of healthcare experience, Jean Donati combines conventional medical knowledge with Traditional Chinese Medicine to provide thoughtful, personalized treatment.

Personalized Treatment

Every treatment plan evolves as your body responds. Whether you're seeking relief from chronic pain, migraines, stress, insomnia, or sports injuries, treatments are adjusted over time to help you make steady progress toward your health goals.

One Patient. One Focus

Every appointment is dedicated entirely to you. Unlike busy clinics that may see several patients at once, Jean Donati schedules one patient at a time, allowing time to listen, evaluate your concerns, answer questions, and create a treatment plan tailored specifically to your needs.

Treatment may include acupuncture, electroacupuncture, cupping, gua sha, warm stone meridian therapy, red light therapy, lifestyle recommendations, and other techniques when appropriate. Every recommendation is based on your individual condition rather than a one-size-fits-all approach.

Frequently Asked Questions About Acupuncture

    • Consultation: We'll discuss your health history, current concerns, lifestyle, and treatment goals.

    • Assessment: I'll evaluate your condition using pulse diagnosis, tongue examination, abdominal palpation, and other traditional Chinese medicine assessment techniques when appropriate.

    • Treatment: After answering your questions, we'll begin your personalized acupuncture treatment.

    • Duration: Approximately 90 minutes.

    • Investment: $260.

  • Acupuncture treatments build on one another, so consistency is important. Most patients begin with two acupuncture treatments per week for the first two weeks, then transition to weekly sessions as symptoms improve. If your pain or symptoms flare between appointments, an additional treatment may help maintain progress. As your condition stabilizes, treatments are gradually spaced farther apart to support long-term results.

I always tailor your treatment schedule to your condition, health goals, and how your body responds over time.

  • The number of acupuncture treatments varies depending on your condition, how long you've had it, and your overall health. Some people notice improvement after just a few sessions, while chronic or more complex conditions may require a longer course of treatment.

During your initial acupuncture consultation, I'll recommend a personalized treatment plan based on your symptoms and goals. We'll monitor your progress at each visit and adjust your plan as needed. My goal is to help you feel better as efficiently as possible while supporting lasting results.

  • Wear loose, comfortable clothing that allows access to your arms, legs, abdomen, or back. If needed, you'll be provided with appropriate draping to ensure your comfort and privacy during treatment.

  • Follow-up acupuncture visits typically last 45–60 minutes and cost $130. We'll review your progress, discuss any changes in your symptoms, and adjust your treatment as needed before beginning your acupuncture session. Each visit is personalized to support your continued progress and long-term health goals.

  • Acupuncture is a safe, gentle treatment when performed by a licensed acupuncturist. Most people experience little to no discomfort during treatment and often leave feeling deeply relaxed.

Common temporary responses may include mild soreness, minor bruising, fatigue, or emotional release.

Many patients also notice positive effects such as improved sleep, reduced stress, increased energy, better digestion, and an overall sense of well-being.

If you ever have questions or concerns after your treatment, I'm always happy to discuss them with you.

  • Insurance coverage for acupuncture varies by plan. Before your appointment, we recommend contacting your insurance provider to ask:

    • Is acupuncture covered?

    • What conditions are eligible for coverage?

    • Are there session limits or a deductible?

    • Is a referral or prior authorization required?

Jean Donati Acupuncture is an out-of-network provider. Upon request, you'll receive a superbill with the appropriate ICD-10 and CPT codes so you can submit a claim to your insurance company for possible reimbursement.
